Aviator Wing - User Manual
How to set up your wing
- Unfold the wing on a flat, gentle surface. Grass or sand is ideal. Make sure that the leading edge is to windward.
- Upon first set up, check that the end caps of the leading edge and strut are well closed. Fasten the Velcro closures if necessary.
- Inspect for any sand or debris between the leading edge and the canopy. Remove any sand or debris.
- Make sure there’s no sand or debris inside the valves.
- Connect the pump hose to the leading-edge valve.
- Inflate the leading edge to the pressure indicated next to its valve (7 psi).
- Disconnect the pump from the valve and close the valve cap.
- Connect the pump hose to the strut valve.
- Inflate the strut to the pressure indicated next to its valve (9 psi).
- Disconnect the pump from the valve and close the valve cap.
- Attach the leash to its attachment point on the leading edge.
How to pack up your wing
- It is preferable to let the wing dry before packing.
- Deflate the strut and leading edge by unscrewing the middle part of the valves.
- Begin at one tip and fold or roll towards the strut. Then repeat from the other tip.
- Fold two more times, working from the trailing edge towards the valves.
- The leash can stay attached.
- Put the folded wing inside the bag.
- If the wing was wet when packed, unpack at home to allow it to dry before prolonged storage.
Care and maintenance
Avoid rocky terrain and asphalt.
Do not drag the wing over the ground. Dragging will cause wear or more serious damage to the strut and canopy material. The construction of your wing makes strategic use of protective materials to optimise weight, performance, and durability.
Do not allow sand to get inside the valves. Air leakage may result.
Before the wing is inflated, always clean any sand from between the leading edge and the canopy. Trapped sand can pierce the canopy when the leading edge is inflated.
If the wing is damaged, then repair immediately. Continued use of a torn or otherwise compromised wing may result in it becoming damaged beyond repair.
Store the wing dry and in a well-ventilated place.
